Antud mudelautosid on toodetud vaid 100 tükki!SAAB 9-x Airi kontseptsiooni näol on tegemist neljaistmelise kabrioletiga, mida esitleti 2008. aasta Pariisi autonäitusel. See on SAAB 9-x Biohybridi uue põlvkonna kabriolettversioon, mille presentkatus kannab SAABi inseneride poolt nimetatuna “Canopy Top”.
SAAB 9-x Airil on põhimõtteliselt samad välised tunnused nagu teistel SAABi mudelitel. Stiilipuhas ja liigsete detailideta saabilikult äratuntav esiosa sobib autole väga hästi.
9-x Airi kõige silmatorkavam omadus on aga ebatavaline kabriolettkatus ja längus tagaosa. Teiseks ebatavaliseks komponendiks on Saab integreerinud tagaakna kere tagumisse osasse (harilikult on tagaaken kabriotel osa katusest), akent saab tõsta või alla lasta elektrooniliselt.
SAAB 9-x Airi kontseptsioonauto interjööri iseloomustavad puhtad stiilijooned ja selgelt piiritletud juhitsoon, mille tõstab esile valge viimistlus. Sõitjate tsoonid on stiliseeritud nii ees kui taga ja on ümbritsetud musta viimistlusega. Täiustatud on digitaalset armatuurlauda mis asetseb ümber juhi kaarjalt ja pakub teavet väga erilise disainiga ning helendavas rohelises valgustoonis.
SAAB 9-x Airi ideeauto jõuallikaks esipaigutusega 1,4-liitrine turbomootor, mida saab kütta ka E85 biokütusega. Hybriidajamiga teeb koostööd liitiumioon aku toitel elektrimootor. Jõudu edastab esiratastele kuuekäiguline käsitsi valitav automaatsiduriga käigukast.

Produced 200 pcs only!!!The Saab 9-x Air concept is a four seat convertible which was revealed at the 2008 Paris Motor Show. It is a convertible version of the Saab 9-x Biohybrid, with a canvas roof denominated “Canopy Top” by Saab.
The Saab 9-x Air displays the same exterior styling features of other models in Saab’s lineup. The neat and uncluttered front end suits the car very well. However the most striking feature of the 9-x Air is the unusual convertible roof and sloping tail section. In another unorthodox step Saab have integrated the rear window into the rear body work (instead of being part of the roof), the window can be raised or lowered electronically.
The interior of the Saab 9-x Air concept is characterized by clean styling lines, and a clearly defined driver zone highlighted by white trim. The passenger zones, both front and back, are surrounded by black trim. The advanced digital dash display wraps around the driver and offers up information in a striking luminescent green hue.
Powering the Saab 9-x Air concept is a front mounted 1.4 litre turbocharged engine which is E85 biofuel capable. This works in conjunction with an electric motor powered by Li-ion batteries. Sending the power to the front wheels is a six-speed transmission.
